U.S. mobile subscribers have trailed their European and Asian counterparts in the adoption of mobile Internet. But a July report from Bango suggests that U.S. mobile Web use accounts for 18.9% of the world's total -- second behind leader U.K., with 19.4%. Bango's Adam Kerr said the rapid growth was partly the result of U.S. providers' launching 3G networks and the availability of newer, more powerful handsets.
