Wind energy has always been at the mercy of Mother Nature, but now researchers are looking at ways to store wind energy in tanks of compressed air. Energy Storage and Power is a new joint venture that proposes to store the tanks of compressed air for use during peak energy hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Even without storage, the Department of Energy reported wind power could generate 20% of the nation's electricity by 2030.
