The postures, breathing and meditation in yoga can help menopausal women reduce symptoms of hot flashes, night sweats and sleep disturbances, new research shows. The study included 120 menopausal women aged 40 to 55 and also found the group that practiced yoga and heard yoga-related lectures showed more improvements on tests of attention, concentration, memory and intelligence than the group who did simple stretches and strengthening exercises and heard general health information lectures.
