Accounting majors in the Class of 2008 were offered average salaries of more than $48,000, a 3.7% increase, according to a survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The survey found that the overwhelming majority of disciplines experienced increased average starting salaries. "One force driving the overall increase in the average salary offer to all college graduates is the strong demand for and low supply of technical graduates," said Marilyn Mackes, executive director of NACE.
