Delta, Northwest and American airlines all plan to re-establish their codeshare services to Russia via intermediary points in Europe. Meanwhile, United has proposed joining forces with British Midland to launch service between the U.S. and Russia. Continental is working on a similar agreement with Swiss International. The Department of Transportation invited the carriers to file applications regarding codesharing plans after a recent Memorandum of Consultations between the two countries that once again allows the agreements.
