When fuel costs were reaching record highs, airlines implemented a variety of fees, "fuel surcharges" and other charges to recoup losses. However, columnist Scott McCartney says airlines will likely continue to collect those fees despite a recent drop in the price of crude oil. Many in the industry believe that the changes made this year to airlines' business models are here to stay, especially as the industry is still poised to report losses for the year.
