Kate Rice of TravelPulse.com says that the financial crisis roiling the markets will certainly affect the willingness of consumers to spend money on travel. "Consumers are currently in a hunker-down mentality," said Greg McBride, senior financial analyst with Bankrate.com. "This problem didn't start last week. We've been in a credit crunch for 13 months and counting. The economy has shed jobs every single month in 2008 and home prices have been in a decline for two years in some markets." But it's not the end of the world. The markets, and travel agents, will get through this tough time.
