With concrete and asphalt prices rising and city finances tightening, Dallas may not reach its goal of ensuring that 87% of its public roads are in satisfactory condition by 2010. Officials say the city may instead only reach certifying 85% of Dallas roadways as they recommend that $4.2 million in funds dedicated to partial street reconstruction and major asphalt repairs be slashed in the 2008-2009 cycle.
