Finding day care for children with developmental disabilities challenges many working families, so a Dallas-area district and the nearby ARC teamed up to offer after-school care from trained specialists. "Ian actually likes going to school now, because he gets to do this in the afternoons," said parent Carrie Hammers, whose son Ian has autism and bounced from day care to day care before entering the school's Adventure Club, which costs families about $20 daily.
