The government's plan to seize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac includes reducing mortgage assets on their books by 10% each year, starting in 2010. The move is expected to offer Wall Street banks -- particularly Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers Holdings and Deutsche Bank -- a greater opportunity to securitize more home loans. The move could also "bring liquidity back faster and remove uncertainty" in the market, said David Trone, a brokerage analyst at Fox-Pitt, Kelton.
