Japanese banks, including Mizuho Corporate Bank, Aozora Bank and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, recently increased their overseas lending business and are among the leading lenders to Lehman Brothers. According to Lehman's bankruptcy documentation, Aozora lent Lehman $463 million, the most of any bank, while Mizuho lent $289 million. The loans will not necessarily sour, as Lehman reported $639 billion in assets.
