A dramatic rise in in Lake Okeechobee's water levels has led some Floridians to express concern about Hurricane Ike's effect on the lake's massive earthen levees. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun releasing water from the lake to reduce the risk of flooding. "Another Tropical Storm Fay would make us extremely concerned," said the head of the Corps' Florida engineering division.
