A Tennessee mother is suing her son's school district in federal court after two people allegedly held down the 9-year-old boy, who has severe autism, for nearly four hours. School officials allegedly refused to let Malissa Denise Evans see her son or take him home during the incident, according to the suit against the district's school board and administrators of the school for students with behavioral problems. The district's special education director says the incident has lead to changes in how children with autism are educated.
