Small-business owners are becoming increasingly unhappy about how vague the presidential candidates are concerning the issues that affect them the most and more critical of the government's failure to help them cope with the economic downturn. Neither candidate is "making any meaningful proposals about anything," said a Florida small-business consultant who also faulted the government for bailing out big businesses but not giving emergency credit to small companies. NFIB statistics indicate that small businesses represent 15% of registered voters, a bloc big enough to sway the election.
