Medtronic has disclosed on its Web site a list of its charitable donations, prompted by inquiries from Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who argues that sponsorships, consulting fees and other payments that medical-device makers give to doctors could influence their treatment decisions. The online-published list of corporate donations is separate from those from The Medtronic Foundation, which makes philanthropic donations worldwide. Other med-tech makers have agreed to provide more information about their payments to doctors.
