Harry B. Smart, who helped invent the business of TV ad sales as an executive and eventually CEO of Blair Television, died Sept. 20 at the age of 84, in Lake Forest Place, Ill. His career at Blair spanned nearly 40 years, and he was a well-liked and admired figure in TV ad sales. Jim Dowdle, former EVP of Tribune Co., said, "He was the godfather of the industry at one time."
