Omnicom Group is at liberty take a maximum 49% stake in a new agency being formed to handle Nissan North America's multicultural business which, per the automaker's rules, must have certified minority ownership. Under the plan, the three agencies that competed for the Nissan account will make up the as-yet-unnamed agency. They are Omnicom's Dieste Harmel & Partners; Footsteps, a black-owned shop in which Omnicom has a 49% stake; and Asian-American shop Admerasia, which is not owned by Omnicom, but has formerly teamed with Omnicom on discrete projects.
