With transportation costs more than doubled since last year, online retailers will be pressured to preserve margins while offering customary holiday shipping discounts. Last year, free shipping without conditions was offered by 37% of respondents while 71% offered
it with conditions, according to a Shop.org survey. However, industry experts predict more retailers will place limits on free shipping, such as offering it only to their credit card holders or raising the minimum-purchase requirement.
