A study that included children in 31 countries finds babies given the pain reliever paracetamol -- acetaminophen in the U.S. -- in their first year were 46% more likely to develop asthma by age 6 or 7. Researchers say the reason may be that paracetamol reduces the level of antioxidants that stop free radicals from damaging the body.
