AirTran Airways plans to reduce available seat miles up to 7% in the current quarter -- and up to 7% more in 2009 -- after reporting a $107.1 million loss in the third quarter. CEO Bob Fornaro said he was "extremely disappointed" with the results, but noted that better things are in store. "With oil down to reasonable levels, we are now poised to return to profitability in coming quarters," he said.
