Groundskeepers for baseball fields do not keep their eye on the ball; they keep their eye on the field. Many ballparks have a unique mowing style, from stripes at Dodger Stadium to a checkerboard at Wrigley Field. Many credit David Mellor, the director of grounds for the Boston Red Sox, with starting the trend in mowing designs on the field.
