TV stations should do all they can to ensure a smooth DTV transition by targeting analog viewers with a barrage of PSA, programs and other information, including a continuous crawl just before the Feb. 17 cutoff, according to TVNEWSDAY editor Harry A. Jessell.
"Isn't it better to annoy viewers prior to the cut off than to leave them in the dark afterward?" Jessell writes. "The answer is yes."
