Research now confirms what many successful dieters already know -- that people who lose significant amounts of weight and keep it off continue to eat right and exercise. The study compared 167 long-term successful dieters to 300 obese people who had tried dieting and failed. It found successful dieters are physically active for about an hour a day, are always aware of the calorie content of the food they eat, are less likely to eat for emotional reasons and have fewer TVs.
