American Airlines passengers at Chicago O'Hare began using electronic boarding passes Thursday, a high-tech service being offered by several carriers now including Continental Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Fliers can have a bar code sent to their cell phone or mobile device, which is then scanned at the security screening point and again at the gate. American plans to roll out the service Monday at both Los Angeles International and John Wayne Orange County airports.
