Ariens Co. is scrambling for engine suppliers for its snowblowers after it received notice that one of its major suppliers plans to halt production for 60 days. Cash-strapped suppliers are also demanding to be paid in advance or paid within 30 days instead of 60 days. "Our suppliers [are] being pressured by their suppliers to pay more quickly, so they're turning to us," said Steve Ditter, an Ariens sourcing manager.
