A British study of more than 2,600 women adds to a growing pile of scientific data showing caffeine raises the risk of slower fetal growth and having an underweight baby. Researchers say the chances of having a baby of low birth weight rose to 50% when caffeine consumption was between 200 milligrams and 299 milligrams daily, roughly two to three cups of coffee.
