Horizon Group Properties will begin construction on its Outlet Shoppes at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. The group received approval for the 410,000-square-foot retail center from the local planning and zoning commission. The project will feature open spaces, fountains and landscaped, covered walkways.
CBL & Associates Properties and Horizon Group Properties are planning to build the only outlet center in Kentucky. The 370,000-square-foot complex will be called The Outlet Shoppes at Louisville and will be located in Simpsonville. Construction starts next month.

Cabot Investment Properties is investing up to $2 million in a makeover of East Town Mall in Green Bay, Wis. The renovation, which includes a new entrance, upgraded bathrooms and a new center court lounge with Wi-Fi, is expected to be complete by summer.
The Prime Outlets shopping center in Burlington, Wash., has been sold as part of a deal worth $59.1 million. The 174,000-square-foot center -- to be renamed The Outlet Shoppes at Burlington -- boasts stores from Liz Claiborne, Coach, Eddie Bauer and Tommy Hilfiger. The Horizon Group Properties Inc. paid $59.1 million for the mall, assuming $53 million in debt as part of the purchase.
