Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York hired design firm IDEO to look at its chemotherapy program from a different perspective, part of a recent trend in businesses looking to design companies for new management ideas. IDEO found patients were more concerned about transportation and blood test results than long waits for treatment. As a result, the clinic changed how patients are tested, how they get to the clinic and how they learn about chemotherapy.
