After more than a year of testing, an Aero L-29 jet trainer flew from Reno, Nev., to Leesburg, Fla., using primarily biofuel. Green Flight International says the cross-country flight -- conducted in 300-mile increments to comply with FAA regulations -- was made with a biodiesel blend of 75% soy and 25% animal fat. In its next test, slated for early 2009, the company plans to use a sustainable, algae-based fuel.
