The National Transportation Safety Board this week will release a final ruling on the cause of the 2007 collapse of a Minneapolis bridge. An interim report cited design flaws as the cause of the collapse, particularly 16 fractured gusset plates that were only half the required thickness. Some activists groups note that, regardless of the cause of the collapse, the disaster demonstrates that the nation's infrastructure is aging.
