Retailers are hoping their e-commerce efforts will offset slow in-store sales during the holiday shopping season. Brick-and-mortar sales gains of between zero to 2.2% are predicted for November and December, according to estimates by Bain & Co. and the NRF, while Internet sales are forecast to grow 12%, according to Forrester Research.
