See's Candies will open a location later this month in Sycamore Township, its first company-operated store in the Cincinnati region. The new location will sell more than 100 varieties of the no-preservative candy and chocolate. During the opening festivities, the store will give each customer a free piece of candy. Macy's stores in the area offer limited assortment shops carrying See's Candies.
Nassau Candy is relaunching soft drinks from the early and middle 1900s, including Dad’s Root Beer, Pop Shoppe, Jackson Hole Soda and Moxie. "The combination of rich flavors, quality ingredients, and old-fashioned glass really takes you back to the 'good old days,'" said Alan Zwerin, vice president of gourmet food sales at Nassau Candy.
Wrigley in the U.K. could be trimming the number of its chewing-gum products, industry insiders said. It was not clear which products would be cut; the company launched a number of fruit flavors and liquid-filled offerings last year.
The Folgers coffee business now is officially owned by J.M. Smucker Co. The $3 billion purchase from Procter & Gamble gives the nation's leading coffee brand to Smucker, maker and marketer of brands including Pillsbury, Eagle Brand and Hungry Jack.
