Children with disabilities who attend religious schools are unfairly required to travel off-campus for special education services, according to an IDEA lawsuit filed in Washington state. That amounts to religious discrimination, says Michael Bindas, attorney for the Institute for Justice's Washington chapter. An attorney general spokesman says the services are provided off-site due to state law prohibiting public funding of religious institutions.
