American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten and D.C. Schools chancellor Michelle A. Rhee said Monday they will work together to resolve a teacher contract that would allow some teachers to earn six-figure salaries in exchange for giving up their tenure for one year. Weingarten also said she opposes Rhee's back-up plan to work around the D.C. teachers union, which has stalled in its discussion of the proposed contract.
