President-elect Barack Obama campaigned saying he'd ease some restrictions on traveling to Cuba, but he wouldn't go so far as to say he'd lift the trade embargo. Now that he has been elected, some U.S. business groups want him to erase the decades-old ban on trade with the island. Last week, several leading groups, including the American Chemistry Council, wrote Obama with their view "that the embargo is not having -- and will not have -- the type of economic impact that might influence the behavior of the Cuban government."
