A family whose daughter has Down syndrome says early intervention is important for those with the genetic condition, and they want to "open people's eyes to their abilities, not their disabilities." The executive director of the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City says early intervention is the key to ensuring children meet the same milestones as their peers, and the family says that children with Down syndrome are equally able to be employed and participate in school and community activities.
