Despite a global recession and a power shift in Washington, Boeing Co. still believes it can increase defense sales by up to 5% over the next five to 10 years. Jim Albaugh, head of Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems unit, told the Reuters Aerospace and Defense Summit that the growth in defense sales will help make up for declining commercial numbers caused by a two-month machinists strike. Albaugh also said the company is focused on boosting foreign sales to 20% of total.
