ExxonMobil has developed expertise and technology in emissions control at a natural gas processing plant in Wyoming that could put the company ahead both in the area of curbing greenhouse-gas emissions and stockpiling carbon dioxide for use in fossil-fuel production. "Certainly, Exxon isn't usually thought of as being in the forefront of environmental progress, but the fact is they are deeply involved in carbon capture and storage technology," says the Environmental Defense Fund's A. Scott Anderson.
