There were some three dozen injuries but no deaths on Saturday when a Continental Airlines 737 veered off a runway during takeoff from Denver International Airport. The 115 passengers and crew aboard Flight 1404 escaped safely through emergency exits as the plane burned just 200 yards from an airport fire station. NTSB officials planned to examine the wreckage today, and technicians in Washington were reviewing flight data and cockpit voice recorders. Continental CEO Larry Kellner vowed to do "whatever we can to learn the cause of this accident so that we can prevent a recurrence at Continental or at any other airline."
