CEOs and other top executives from United Airlines and Continental Airlines have held three meetings to explore the cost savings that could be gained through a deeper alliance between the two carriers. "Whether ground handling, fuel servicing, de-icing, catering, all of that affords an opportunity," United CEO Glenn Tilton said Thursday. "Not all of it's going to be realized. But all of that forms the basis of a conversation."
