Two Texas women have filed the first lawsuits against Continental Airlines over a runway incident at Denver International Airport last month. According to the suit, the pilot "negligently aborted" the takeoff, causing the plane to veer off the runway and into a ravine. Aviation experts have said strong crosswinds likely contributed to the accident, and a Continental spokesperson said the lawsuit is premature since the NTSB is still investigating. "We're prepared to defend the company's actions and those of our crew," she said.
