Google, having failed to allay federal antitrust concerns over its failed ad pact with Yahoo!, this year is facing potential obstacles to its plans from a wide mix of emboldened opponents, including ad and broadcast trade groups, ISPs and online privacy advocates. "There were a lot of sharks circling Google during the DOJ review," said Christopher Murray, senior counsel for Consumers Union. "Now there's a whiff of blood in the water. I expect a feeding frenzy in 2009."
