The national economic crisis has led to less money for education throughout the country, and the governors of five states have now requested $250 billion in federal funds to recoup some money for education. "In the earlier talk about a stimulus package, there was a neglect to discuss education and the needs of education," said Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland. "When our budgets are cut, that means in most cases a cut to education. We think that is not a wise thing to have happen."
