Shopping and strip mall rents may fall as a result of the bankruptcy of Circuit City. The retailer is closing 567 U.S. stores and liquidating its assets, meaning big trouble for landlords and commercial real estate investors. "Now those landlords are in line like the rest of their creditors -- and probably in the back of the line to get paid," said Suzanne Mulvee, a real estate strategist with Property & Portfolio Research.
