In an analysis of potential earthquakes, cyclones, tsunamis and volcanoes in the Asia-Pacific region, Geoscience Australia predicts the region is heading for a period of large-scale natural disasters that could kill as many as a million people at a time. The problems caused by natural occurrences could be exacerbated by climate change, population growth and food shortages, added the government body.
