After another increase on Wall Street, shares in Asia rose Wednesday. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 Average advanced 1.5%, the broader Topix index climbed 1.1% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index slid 0.5%. China's Shanghai Composite edged down 0.1%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 added 1% and Korea's Kospi gained 2%. Taiwan's main index and Singapore's Straits Times Index both rose 1.4%, and India's Sensex was up 1.1%. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve's target rate is 0.25%, the prime rate is 3.25% and the one-month Libor is 0.42%. The three-month Libor hit 1.41%, the five-year AAA banking and finance rate is 5.18%, and the 10-year AAA banking and finance rate is 5.80%.
