Kraft Foods is offering convenience-store price promotions on its Kenco and Carte Noire coffee ranges, two fast-growing brands in the U.K. "These promotions give convenience retailers the opportunity to stock leading products at even better prices and to offer great value to their customers on the brands they love," a Kraft executive said.
Avery's Beverages of New Britain, Conn., introduced Barack O'Berry and John McCream sodas during the presidential campaign. The company is relaunching the raspberry O'Berry with an inauguration label and pineapple flavor in honor of the president-elect.
Starbucks Corp. is introducing "South of the Clouds," a blend of coffee grown by farmers in China, and wants to sell it in stores around the world. "Ultimately I'd love to see our coffees from China [featured] on the shelves of every one of our stores in 49 countries," a company official said.
A new study suggests that drinking coffee in midlife can reduce the risk for late-onset dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The risk was 65% less among moderate coffee drinkers who consumed three to five cups a day.
