Although many lawmakers have expressed anger over the Bush administration's management of the $700 billion economic-rescue fund, Senate leaders from both parties have signaled that they would back releasing the remaining $350 billion. At the urging of President-elect Barack Obama, President George W. Bush formally requested the remaining funds. Mr. Obama said his administration will demand far more oversight of the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
