The National Transportation Safety Board will lose one of its five members on Saturday when Steven R. Chealander resigns to join Airbus-Americas as vice president of technical training. After serving one year with the NTSB, the former Air Force pilot and American Airlines captain was awaiting Senate confirmation for a full five-year term. In his resignation letter to President Barack Obama, Chealander said his NTSB service was "one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life."
