Despite a sharp downturn in most sectors of the economy, the light sport aircraft market continues to grow. Dan Johnson, chairman of the Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association, says the recent Sport Aviation Expo attracted a record 11,500 attendees, and 20 planes valued at $2.5 million found buyers. Due to the high demand, new regional LSA shows have been scheduled for Bryan, Texas, and Mount Vernon, Ill.
